ZUMBROTA, Minn. – A new grocery store in downtown Zumbrota is offering eco-friendly items. Greensted Grocery has been open a couple weeks. They offer locally sourced ranging from meat and eggs to towels and bath soaps.
Jayne Bredlau is the owner. Originally she and her husband Dean ran The Greensted Farm Store in rural Zumbrota growing microgreens and putting them in wholesale grocery stores. After seeing their business decline they decided it was best to start a grocery store.
Currently Greensted is working with 180 vendors Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Bredlau says working with vendors is her favorite part.
