Drivers are complaining about a raised concrete median along Missouri 58 Highway that caught them by surprise on a rainy and dark Sunday evening. The new median’s curb, installed to prevent turns on the highway, rocked Nick Rowland’s rim on his Nissan Sentra.“I felt it before I saw it,” Rowland said. “I immediately pulled over into a parking lot.”Rowland said another man in an Arby’s parking lot nearby said he also hit the curb and damaged his front and back tire.They both called City of Belton officials to complain.Multiple posts in at least two Facebook groups also confirmed drivers hitting the curb along the median.Crews built the raised median to control turns and keep traffic moving along a wider stretch of 58 Highway.Belton Assistant City Manager Mike Ekey said striping will eventually help drivers navigate the area much better.“The design will ultimately help the flow of traffic through this area,” …
