New Orleans Plaza Tower safety concerns ahead of Bayou Classic [Video]

Tens of thousands of people from all across the world are heading to New Orleans this weekend for the holiday and a rivalry football game. Many people are excited for Thanksgiving and the Bayou Classic.A stretch of Howard Avenue and the right lane of Loyola Avenue are closed because dangerous debris continues to fall from Plaza Tower in the Central Business District. The city of New Orleans has issued a statement regarding Plaza Tower safety concerns: “The City continues to assess the structure at 1001 Howard Avenue, including the safety features around the building. Street closures will remain in place through the holiday weekend as this work progresses. It is important to note that the City does not own the building.
