Nonprofit bridging the gap between Hispanic community and art organizations [Video]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Hispanic Alliance is working to connect resources to the growing Hispanic and Latino communities across the state.

Allied4Art is just one resource opportunity within the larger Allied4SC series in the organization. The Allied4SC series identifies community barriers to resources by connecting people with other organizations and institutions in health, culture and workforce.

The nonprofit’s program Allied4Art partners with the South Carolina Art Commission to identify barriers for cultural artists. The commission granted the organization $25,000 in funding for an assessment report to find challenges that artists face.

The nonprofit is bringing the art resource series to the Gibbes Museum of Art in downtown Charleston Thursday. Community artists and art institutions are meeting to review report findings. The goal is to create a more inclusive arts community across the state.
