Officials mark launch of broadband in western Kenosha County [Video]

BRIGHTON — Representatives of Spectrum joined local officials Tuesday in announcing the launch of the company’s broadband service to roughly 1,000 homes and small businesses in western Kenosha County.

Officials noted many of those to be served previously lacked access to high-speed internet.

The initiative — which involved the laying of 80 miles of fiberoptic cable infrastructure in rural sections of Brighton, Paris and Bristol — was completed with the support of the first broadband expansion grant that the Wisconsin Public Service Commission awarded in Kenosha County, officials said.
