Open house Tuesday for Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension project; Jersey City protest planned [Video]

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority will hold an open house Tuesday to discuss the first project in the controversial Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension Improvements Program.

The session, called a public information center (PIC), will be held at the Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center at 140 Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Residents, commuters, public officials, small business owners and other stakeholders are invited to drop by any time between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. to learn about the first project — the replacement of the nearly 70-year-old Vincent Robert Casciano Bridge, known as the Newark Bay Bridge — in the safety and modernization program.
