Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo told the media, including Chad Graff of The Athletic, that although there is still a competition, he and the coaching staff are leaning towards veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
Graff shared the news via Twitter/X.
Brissett will likely be the QB1 once Week 1 kicks off for New England as they will face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 8. The Patriots will travel to Cincinnati and will be road underdogs with a +9 spread and +360 money line.
