ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Pleasant conditions will return to the region overnight as any showers and storms from Monday afternoon will dissipate. Sun and clouds will return on Tuesday with most of the region remaining dry.
Temperatures for Tuesday will start in the 50s, rising into the 70s for most of the area. Southside will be warmest with highs in the low 80s.
Temperatures will build throughout the week with excessive heat possible for most of Southwest and Central Virginia starting Friday. As of Monday afternoon, Roanoke and Lynchburg will be within one degree of record highs.
Heat will continue for the weekend and early next week with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.
