TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Some people are starting the new year off on a cold foot. That’s after the 2025 Polar Plunge in Maumee Wednesday morning
Dozens of brave souls met at the Corey Street Launch Ramp with a few snowflakes falling from the sky.
13 Action News spoke with the organizers who said this is the biggest group they’ve had in eight years of putting it on.
“It was amazing,” one of the participants, Juan Duarte, said. “It was better than I could’ve imagined. So many people we didn’t know showed up, so many people we did know showed up.”
In addition to recharging the nervous system, participants were encouraged to bring canned goods for Sylvania Area Family Services, a non-profit organization.
