SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Thursday, President Joe Biden approved the South Dakota Disaster Declaration.
According to the White House, the president has ordered Federal aid to supplement local recovery efforts in the hard-hit areas following June’s historic flooding. This includes Union County.
This assistance can include grant assistance for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses to assist individuals and business owners effected.
Federal funding will also be available for state, tribal and eligible local governments along with certain nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency and repair or replacement work done for a number of areas to include Union and Yankton Counties.
