President Trump has revoked several executive orders that encouraged DEI, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.
WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Following President Donald Trump’s executive order ending Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies in the federal government and in many private industries, many Americans have expressed concerns about how this will impact equal employment opportunities.
DEI hiring initiatives promote equal opportunities for people of different races, ages, religions, sexes, education levels or socioeconomic statuses. It aims to combat employment discrimination.
Trump said DEI policies are “dangerous, demeaning, and immoral,” “undermine our national unity,” and “discredit and undermine the traditional American values of hard work, excellence, and individual achievement in favor of an unlawful, corrosive, and pernicious identity-based spoils system.”
Instead, the purpose of the order is to ” end illegal preferences and discrimination.”
