Property prices rose by 10% since September last year [Video]

Property prices increased by 10% in the last 12 months to September according to the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI).

In the capital prices rose by 10.8% outside Dublin prices rose up by 9.4%.

There was also a small dip in the number of dwellings purchased in September compared to the same time last year.

This year 4,167 dwelling purchases by households at market prices were filed with the Revenue Commissioners, down by 2.1% when compared with the 4,255 purchases in September 2023.

The latest data shows the median price of a dwelling purchased in the 12 months to September 2024 was €346,000.

While the lowest median price for a dwelling in the 12 months to September 2024 was €175,000 in Longford, while the highest median price was €637,500 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
