Public Craft officially under new ownership, closes for week [Video]

Public Craft Brewing Company, 628 58th St., is officially under Lakefront Brewery ownership, according to a press release.

The local brewery and tap room announced it would be temporarily closed for about a week starting last Saturday, Aug. 3. The close allows for “light reorganizing, training and business licensing to be finalized” according to the release.

“After a week or so, Public will reopen once again,” said Lakefront Brewery President Russ Klisch. “We couldn’t be more excited about Public Brewing Company and continuing Kenosha’s craft beer brewing.”

Klisch reiterated previous remarks about the local brewing company’s “solid reputation” for beer and food.

“We aim to build on that, in addition to adding some great events,” Klisch said.

According to the release, Public, much like Lakefront, is in a historical building that has recently had a major renovation with new bathrooms, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
