Public safety investment allocated through Violence Prevention and Intervention Fund in KCMO [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A $300,000 allocation from the Violence Prevention and Intervention Fund is set to advance public safety in Kansas City, Missouri.

On Tuesday, Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw and Councilman Nathan Willett announced that support for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department’s adoption of advanced Peregrine Software was approved through the Police Foundation.

According to the City, KCPD identified Peregrine Software as “essential for integrating and streamlining data to improve operational management and response.”

The City’s contribution aims to help close the funding gap for the three-year cost of $2 million, $1.7 million of which the Police Foundation of Kansas City is actively fundraising for.

“Equipping law enforcement with the necessary tools to respond promptly and effectively ultimately contributes to a safer Kansas City for us all,” said Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw, lead sponsor of the legislation.
