Quiet, mild weather starts December in Northern California [Video]

Temperatures warm a bit for the first week in December with valley mornings in the 40s and afternoons in the 60s.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — The forecast for the first week of December is dry and warmer — not warm, but warmer — than the weather that carried through Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

After some foggy mornings Thursday through Sunday, morning weather conditions should improve as the week goes on. Monday morning sees another good opportunity for dense fog to form in the valley, with morning fog chances decreasing by Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

The fog comes from a passing low pressure, which brings increased humidity to the region. That low pressure moves south by the middle of the week, and less fog will manifest by the week’s end.

Morning temperatures are also improving from the low 30s last week. Much of this week will see early morning temps in the low to middle 40s. So, it’s still jacket weather this week, but …
