Rothschild to add PFAS facility by end of 2025 [Video]

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – The Village of Rothschild is starting work on a new facility to remove PFAS, also known as the “forever chemicals,” that have contaminated water all across the country, from its water once and for all.

Construction of the new PFAS treatment facility will start soon, and the plan has been on the village’s docket for several years. Village administrator Ryan VanDeWalle has been with the team for two years and says the plan was in the works long before he took on the role.

“The Village of Rothschild, along with other, many other municipalities, knew that this would be coming down the pipeline. So, the Village has been kind of taking a proactive approach in trying to determine what’s the best water we can provide to our residents,” said VanDeWalle.
