Sam Cooper Blvd. lane closures expected to start Friday [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Westbound lanes will be closed on Sam Cooper Boulevard between I-40 and the Mendenhall Road overpass starting Friday at 8 p.m.

The repairs are expected to last around 14 days to allow city contractors to repair beams on the bridge.

Two westbound lanes on Sam Cooper are expected to be closed during the first week of the bridge repair project. 

One westbound lane will remain closed for the second week of the project.

Drivers should use an alternate route or expect delays.
