Project to begin in fall of 2026 and be completed by winter 2028
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio City Council on Thursday approved a funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for a bike lane project through downtown.
The Market Street Cycle Project will install a nearly one-mile, two-way cycle track from Flores Street to Interstate 37.
The route for the new lanes will include Dolorosa, Market, Alamo and Commerce streets.
An advanced funding agreement (AFA) “negotiates an agreement that determines which party is responsible for conducting work, providing funding or contributing items in-kind,” according to TxDOT’s website.
