SAN DIEGO — This holiday season, a local non-profit is giving the gift of confidence to children and teens around the world.
Fresh Start Surgical Gifts performs reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries for free.
Franco, and his mom, Karla, came to San Diego from Costa Rica after Franco was diagnosed with flat head syndrome. Thanks to Fresh Start, his newest accessory, a cranial orthotic helmet, is now available.
“It’s a miracle; the word to describe it all is grateful. Everyone is so nice, and the doctors have already said he’s doing much better,” Karla said.
The two will stay for free at the Ronald McDonald House for four months while Franco’s helmet and health are monitored.
