COLUMBIA, S.C. — With just hours until session begins in South Carolina, local bar and restaurant owners are hoping legislators will consider the issue of the cost of liquor liability insurance. 

“It essentially went from a piece of your business that was a cost of doing business to essentially the second most expensive thing we do outside of rent,” Kellen Monroe said. 

Monroe, the owner of Craft and Draft, says the cost of the new liquor liability insurance is putting a huge strain on small businesses.
