FALL CREEK, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Senator Tammy Baldwin paying a visit to a family farm in Fall Creek this afternoon. The visit comes as the Senator is being presented with the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award by the American Farm Bureau Federation. Baldwin says it’s important to her to connect with Wisconsin farmers, to hear the challenges they’re facing firsthand and advocate for them in Washington DC.
As the Farm Bill is being finalized, Baldwin says she hopes to see more funding come to the Dairy Business Innovation Act, “These are tough times, so I want to renew that. I want more funding behind it. but there’s many other aspects that I think are high priorities.”
Baldwin says she’s also working to create more legislation that would help protect Wisconsin farmers’ bottom line during extreme weather events like drought and flooding.
