BBC bosses are rumoured to be considering a significant change to the Strictly Come Dancing professional roster, with as many as five established dancers potentially facing dismissal.
This follows controversy and poor performances from some of the show’s veterans. Reportedly on the chopping block are Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, Karen Hauer, Gorka Marquez, and Katya Jones, who have not managed to dazzle alongside their celebrity counterparts.
Most were eliminated early in the recent series, with only Katya making it further, albeit causing frustration among the management due to her viral video clips with Welsh opera star Wynne Evans, which saw her swipe his hand away from her waist and turn her back on him as he tried to ‘high five’ her.
Meanwhile, new talents Jowita Przystal and Vito Coppola have captivated audiences with their stellar performances, signalling a shift towards injecting new blood into the show.
