Sunshine Cafe in Pleasant Hill celebrates 45 years [Video]

A café in Pleasant Hill will mark 45 years in business next month.

The owner, Jesus Diaz, first became a cook at the café, thanks to his dad, who was a longtime dishwasher and bus boy.

The previous owner saw Diaz’s dedication and left the café to him after retiring.

He’s been serving up breakfasts and lunches for decades. 

“All of us are local,” customer Pam Miller said. “This is the ‘Cheers’ of Pleasant Hill. It’s our version… and everyone that is in here has come over a 25-to-30-year period of time.”
