TFD explains how to safely dispose of your 4th of July fireworks | News [Video]

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Fire Department (TFD) said improperly disposing of your 4th of July fireworks can put you in danger and start fires. FOX23 learned how you can safely get rid of your fireworks this Independence Day.

FOX23 spoke with TFD Public Information Officer Andy Little.

Little said TFD sees an increase of fires around 4th of July every year.

“Every year year we see more grass fires, we see more structure fires and we see a lot more injuries,” he said.

He said there’s always a risk when it comes to fireworks, which are made of gunpowder.

Little said fireworks that don’t properly pop are the most dangerous when it comes to fires.
