RAPID CITY, S.D. – As you’re driving through the hills this week, you might want to stop at one of Rapid City’s gems.
The Black Hills Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday 8 AM to 1 PM. Wednesdays are added to the rotation starting on July 4th running through October.
Vendors from across the area meet every week, selling produce, meats, and a wide variety of art. The Rapid City Library also brings their book mobile every week.
While many are there to sell their goods, some are there to give advice on marketing and even gardening. Lyle Casteel of Casteel Gardens LLC sets up a booth every week, teaching people the benefits of composting.
“The main thing I like is I like educating people about the way that I grow the vegetables, the renewable soil,” said Casteel. “Trying to get the regenerative soil movement started here and educate people on that. And, …
