The Public got a sneak peek at Lake View’s new Community Center [Video]

LAKE VIEW (KTIV) – A community mostly known for summer tourism is excited for a new event venue aimed to bring visitors to town year-round.

It started as an idea brought up at a dinner table.

“We had a vision to build a community center 6 years ago, it took us this long to get this far,” said Lake View Mayor John Westergaard.

The goal was to combat the seasonal nature of the community, and to help businesses thrive in the off-season.

“They suffer in the winter, so I thought if we brought people here year-round it would help the businesses,” says Westergaard. “And that’s basically the biggest thrust is to get businesses here year-round. And, to bring people here that normally wouldn’t see our lake, and out great community.”
