COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Fire Marshal Brett Lacey says the Springs area knows firsthand how destructive wildfires can be. That is why CSFD has sent local resources to help with two of the newest fires in our state.
“We no longer have a fire season, but we have a fire year,” Lacey said.
Lacey has been fire marshal with the Colorado Springs Fire Department since 1998. Because of what’s happening north of the Springs, local trucks have been sent to several fires throughout the state.
“We’ve experienced that here, we know the work that they’re undertaking right now, we know the anxiety that puts their community on members under,” Lacey said.
