PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Thousands of Thorns fans said goodbye to soccer star Christine Sinclair on Friday night, in her final home match at Providence Park.
The Thorns defeated Angel City 3-0, with Sinclair scoring the opening goal in the 16th minute.
She was honored on the field by her teammates and coaching staff following the game, as fans screamed her name.
“Thank you for investing and believing in women’s sports,” she told fans.

The 41-year old forward has been with the Portland Thorns since their inception, playing a total of 12 seasons for the club.
“April 2013, we already knew she was special because she was already part of Portland. She was already a star at the University of Portland,” one fan said.
