After the heavy rainfall on Monday and Tuesday, many residents from Steinbach and the surrounding area found their basements flooded. 

Titanium Mechanical was one of the local plumbing businesses that was in high demand this week.  

Stan Hiebert, General Manager at Titanium says they had lots of calls from customers with water backed up into basements. 

“One thing that we would recommend highly, is making sure that you have a water prevention valve, a backup valve that’s going to actually hold so that you don’t have water coming into your basement.” 

He mentions that the majority of the cases they’ve encountered in the past few days involve issues with sump pumps. 

“A lot of customers have not checked their sump pump. It hasn’t been running in the last 3-4 months because it’s been so dry and now it failed when you need it the most.”
