All lanes were blocked for over an hour near Exposition Boulevard.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A portion of Interstate 80 Business Loop was closed due to an investigation of a shooting Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said it received reports of a shooting on the freeway after 3 p.m.
An investigation prompted road closures for southbound lanes near Exposition Boulevard. The roads reopened after being closed for over an hour. The CHP said emergency crews were on scene while roads were closed.
One person was injured and the extent of their injuries were not confirmed. A shooting suspect has not been identified.
CHP South Sacramento says there is no active threat to the public.
“These trends, I have been watching them in other cities in other states and it is coming to Sacramento,” said Berry Accius, Community Activist.
