JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Thursday afternoon that all lanes and exits on U.S. 54 in Jefferson City just south of the Senator Roy Blunt Bridge will reopen on Friday morning.
The half-mile stretch of U.S. 54 just south of the river to Business U.S. 50 was reduced to one lane each way starting July 15.
The project focused on repairing joints and deck on the U.S. 54 overpass bridges over U.S. 50 and McCarty Street, along with a new concrete overlay. MoDOT says the surface of the road should be smoother and last longer.
There were two phases of the project following the rehabilitation work completed under the overpasses this spring and early summer according to MoDOT.
