(CNN) – You may soon be able to request a self-driving car ride from Uber.
Uber and Cruise have announced a partnership to bring autonomous vehicles to the Uber platform.
Cruise said in a release it will provide Chevy Bolt self-driving cars to the ride-share giant.
The partnership is set to launch next year.
A Cruise spokeswoman said the company still plans to re-launch its own driverless ride-hailing service and app, despite the Thursday announcement.
Cruise is currently conducting supervised autonomous vehicle testing with a safety driver in Phoenix, Dallas and Houston.
