Upstate colleges announce plans for Friday as winter weather approaches [Video]

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Some Upstate colleges have announced their plans for Friday as forecasted winter weather approaches.

FOX Carolina’s First Alert weather team said the Upstate could see its first snow in three years on Friday, Jan. 10.

Here’s a look at colleges that have announced changes:

  • Clemson University will close its main campus at noon on Friday and all classes scheduled to begin after that are canceled. Faculty that are scheduled to conduct classes before noon have been asked to move to remote learning options and employees are encouraged to work remotely to the extent possible. All main campus events have been canceled until noon on Saturday.
  • Converse University will have an e-learning day on Friday.
  • Furman University will close campus at 2 p.m. on Friday. It will remain closed until Saturday. Employees who are able to work remotely are asked to do so. The Dining Hall will be open with limited hours.
