RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – KOTA Territory has started to feel the temperature drop as the holiday season approaches, and the presidential statues in downtown Rapid City will soon be bundled up for the weather.
Starting next Friday, Nov. 15, members of the Rapid City community can place winter apparel like gloves, scarves and hats on the statues scattered through downtown for those in need to take.
Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun said the community is encouraged to participate by donating items and placing them on the presidents themselves, or they can donate directly to organizations like Cornerstone Rescue Mission.
Salamun said it has been great to see the community come together for those in need in previous years, and he is excited to see it once again.
