Water authority offering help for elderly, disabled residents in Las Vegas [Video]

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – It’s the time of year when most homeowners who still have grass and gardens have to dust off their watering clock instructions.

Welcome to clock-changing season.

From September through the end of October, we can water just three times a week instead of the 6 times a week during the summer schedule. But starting November 1, watering will be limited to once a week until the spring.

For the elderly or disabled, changing the clock schedules can be a challenge.

“I’m almost 94 and I can do the computer really well but when it comes to the clocks you have to use both hands to change it,” said North Las Vegas resident Loretta Eichelberger.

She says she tried hiring landscapers to do it but that was an issue.

“Often they are overcharging you,” she said.
