WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – North Carolina continues to play a big role in the Presidential election. Both campaigns, visited the Port City, hoping to secure those undecided voters.
Wednesday afternoon, the Second gentleman Doug Emhoff was the latest to visit what many call a “bellwether” county.
Emhoff was all about the economy at the event. He spoke to nearly 100 people at Casa Blanca, a small business in Wilmington, a demographic he says will be a focus of his wife’s economic plan.
“We’re seeing enthusiasm and energy and excitement, just like we’re seeing here in North Carolina. We’re seeing it all over the country. Why is that? Because we need new leadership. We need Kamala Harris,” said Emhoff.
The economy is an issue voters have said is a top priority for them this election cycle.
