Wednesday starts rainy ahead of more cold weather in Charlotte [Video]

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Rain will continue to fall across the Charlotte region through Wednesday morning, with another First Alert Weather Day in place.

  • Today: Morning rain, windy and colder PM
  • Thursday: Lots of sunshine, chilly breeze
  • Weekend: Dry Saturday, spotty Sunday showers

The heaviest, steadiest and most widespread rain Wednesday will continue through the morning hours before abruptly shutting off by early afternoon. Mild daybreak temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s will fall off during the afternoon, likely winding up in the 40s in most neighborhoods by sunset.

In addition to the cooling temperatures, there will also be a gusty breeze this afternoon and snow showers in the mountains.

Tonight will be clear and much colder with lows falling back down into the 20s for most areas.
