Welsh rugby club player pulls off outrageous assist as team score superb try [Video]

Canton RFC pulled off a stunning try thanks to an outrageous assist from their scrum-half.

Number nine George Freeman picked up a bouncing ball inside his own half, before sticking boot to ball with a smart chip over opponents Fairwater’s defensive line.

Spurred on by calls of “Go on George!” from the stands, and among tense anticipation from the matchday crowd, Freeman collected the kick before spinning it out the back door to winger Joe Gouldingay.

Cue a chorus of clapping, laughing and cheering from the spectators as Gouldingay used his speed to rip down the left flank. He dotted down underneath the uprights to finish off a tremendous Canton score.

Playing their first game of the 2024/2025 campaign, Canton were facing Fairwater RFC in the WRU East Central Three league, which took place on Saturday, September 7.
