Western Australia’s thousands of seniors are now eligible to get four cents per litre off their fuel at United Stations, as part of what the state government is labelling a new initiative.
“This program is free, it’s available to anyone who has a seniors card. You just need your seniors card number to register,” United’s Judith Russell said.
However, the opposition has been quick to dismiss the initiative.
“Roger Cook is clutching at straws to claim the promotion of a private company as a cost-of-living relief measure,” Liberal leader Libby Mettam said.
Currently, fuel prices in Perth average $1.71 per litre – the cheapest monthly rate this year. Despite this, households still fork out $101 per week on petrol.
