Thursday marks the first day of early voting in North Carolina, and voters across the Triad are fired up at the polls.Poll workers and voters arrived over an hour early to do their civic duty, and they say they are proud to do so.Marlene Carter was the second person to vote this morning at her location in Winston-Salem.”I got here at 7 a.m. … I’m ready to vote!” she said, “It was real fast.
