The City of Mississauga is starting its annual Fall leaf pickup.
Every year in the Fall, the City provides vacuum leaf pickup on streets that are more than 35 years old and have many mature trees, the City’s website notes.
Residents who live in an area that is part of the leaf pickup program are advised to rake leaves into a neat pile on the edge of the road or into their ditch a day or two before the collection week is set to begin.
The road and curbside drain should be kept clear of leaves, while parked cars and any sports equipment should be removed from the road.
The City said items such as wood, brush or bricks can’t be mixed in with the leaves and any garbage bags or bins shouldn’t be placed on top of the leaves.
