NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – School leaders in Williamson County have announced that increased funding from both their budget and county sources has made higher salaries for school staff a reality. It goes into effect for the 2024-2025 school year.
Governor Bill Lee has said that by 2025, the starting salary for teachers in Tennessee should be $50,000.
Williamson County Schools Superintendent Jason Golden stated that the district has already surpassed this requirement, given the higher cost of living in the area compared to other parts of the state.
“We were able to get a 6% raise for our faculty and staff. We’re excited about that. We want to make sure that our teachers have a professional living income, we were able to raise our starting salary to just a tiny bit over $50,000…$50,100,” Golden explained.
