WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The South Wenonah Boulevard project in Wichita falls is officially moving forward after city council approved relocation of electrical services for a new WinCo Food store.
“I expressed to the council during the meeting that the TIF has performed exceptionally well over its lifetime and that’s really a testimony to the developers who developed that and continue business,” City of Wichita Falls director of development service Terry Floyd said.
Floyd said the tax increment fund played a role in starting the South Wenonah Boulevard project with the help of WinCo Foods.
“They wanted to partner with us to construct the road to at least to Gregory to the south there and that would provide better traffic for them, but we also are looking to see if that opportunity will allow us to extend it further south and build more of the road,” Floyd said.
