Winter Weather Advisory for Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula counties starting Tuesday [Video]

The National Weather Service is calling for 3 to 5 inches of lake effect snow for the impacted counties.

CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties starting on Tuesday as lake effect snow is heading our way.

The advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday for Lake and Ashtabula counties, with the advisory for Geauga County running through 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The NWS says the impacted areas could receive 3 to 5 inches of snow. Winds may gust has high as 35 miles per hour near the lake. 

“Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes,” the NWS stated in its advisory. The heaviest snow is expected Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening when snowfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour will be possible.”
