New Year’s Eve started as an exciting day for the Schrauths: traveling from Campbellsport to New Orleans to see their son play in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.Their son, Billy Schrauth, plays football for the University of Notre Dame. The family’s trip took a turn after 3 a.m. Jan. 1 when police say a suspect in a rented truck mowed down people walking down Bourbon Street. That suspect died in a shootout with police.Authorities said the suspect was from Texas, a U.S.-born citizen and an Army veteran, but said he had an Isis flag, guns and potential explosives in his truck.
