COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Alongside Inauguration Day, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where the former American leader and civil rights activist is remembered, honored, and celebrated every third Monday of January. Even though the Colorado Springs area expects freezing temperatures tomorrow, the “Freedom March” at Antlers Hotel pushes through for Dr. King’s legacy.
Attendees will be walking around the hotel Monday at 10 a.m., with an “All Peoples Breakfast” starting the event at 8 a.m. The breakfast is now closed for registration, however, the march is free and open to the public. Isaac Newton Farris Jr., Dr. King’s nephew, will be the keynote speaker during the breakfast.
