Old Forge Family Farm in Chanceford Township sold more than 1,000 trees in just five days.
YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Some of the last trees of the season were shipped out of Old Forge Family Farm in Chanceford Township on Thursday.
Unprecedented demand has forced the business to close for the season on Friday, Dec. 6.
“We had five days, and we reached our quota,” said Katie Boyer, whose family owns Old Forge.
That’s 1,100 trees sold in less than a week.
Boyer tells FOX43 that another nearby farm is under new ownership and is not selling as many trees this season.
That means Old Forge inherited a lot of their customers.
“It just has been an incredible experience to be able to have so many people come and be so happy and get their tree,” Boyer said.
Old Forge’s owners say the decision to close early is bittersweet.
