Zephyr Energy PLC (AIM:ZPHR, OTCQB:ZPHRF) CEO Colin Harrington joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an operational update on the State 36-2R LNW-CC well at the company’s flagship project in the Paradox Basin, Utah. The company has successfully completed the second phase of the production test, with the acidization operation effectively removing near-wellbore formation damage. This resulted in significantly enhanced reservoir deliverability and improved permeability near the wellbore after each acid treatment.
Harrington reported that peak production rates during the second test exceeded 2,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day—a remarkable achievement for an onshore U.S. well with just 130 feet of completed reservoir interval. The test also observed higher variable liquid-yields compared to the company’s State 16-2 LN-CC well, with almost no evidence of water production. This could substantially reduce the need for costly water disposal, enhancing the well’s economic viability.
This milestone marks a significant development in the White Sands Unit and the broader Paradox acreage.
