59th Sioux City Relays set to commence on Friday [Video]

The 59th running of the Sioux City Relays make a return to Olsen Field this weekend when the games get underway on Friday.

Field events start at noon and running events begin at 3 p.m. with the Delbert Christensen women’s 5K.

Around 6:45, the Rich Vanderloo middle school relays take over the track, with the men’s and women’s 400-meter dash finals interrupting the a plethora of boys and girls 400-meter relays around 7 p.m. The middle and high school competitions will feature student-athletes from across Siouxland. Boys and girls teams from over 40 high schools are expected to be in attendance.

Friday’s races are capped off with the women’s 10K at 8:10 p.m. followed by the men’s competition.
