Amazon Prime Video Receives Annual Wildcard Playoff Game

The NFL is continuing to ramp up its partnership with streaming services. The latest development is that Amazon will get to broadcast an NFL wildcard game in 2025. Amazon will continue broadcasting a wildcard game into the future after this first game, NFL executive vice president Hans Schroeder announced this week, via NBC Sports.

This will now be the second NFL playoff game exclusively available via streaming. The NFL tested out its first streaming-only playoff game earlier this year when the Kansas City Chiefs-Miami Dolphins playoff game aired only on Peacock.

This change has become unpopular for many fans, especially in a T.V. and sports media landscape that is increasingly requiring fans and viewers to pay for more and more subscription plans.

While one of these streaming services alone might not prove that costly, they do add up quickly. It appears that the days when games solely aired on FOX, NBC, ABC
